Taoism is a Chinese religion that is practiced by followers of the Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu, who was born in 300 BC. It is one of the five religions recognized in China. Those who practice Taoism worship the “Tao”, which is the force that drives everything in the universe. The word “Tao” means “path” or “way”. In Taoist faith, the number two is significant as Taoists believe in complementary and opposing forces. The ‘Three Treasures”, or “Three Jewels”, in Taoism are Moderation, Compassion and Humility.
